Terms & Conditions (valid from 03/02/ 2020)
A) Enrolment on Courses and Order confirmation
- Completing and submitting an application form to enrol on a course with the London Hypnotherapy Academy (LHA) is deemed to be an offer to pay for and invest in a course. LHA may accept or decline your offer.
- You confirm that you do not have a criminal record. If you do have a criminal record and wish to attend any of our courses, please contact us.
- You confirm that you have not been diagnosed with, nor do you have reason to suspect that you may currently have severe depression, bipolar or any other psychological illness or psychiatric disorder. If you are epileptic, please contact us prior to enrolling.
- After you have been accepted as a student and have paid the course fees we will send you written (email) confirmation of your enrolment. This comprises the completion of the contract between you and LHA.
- If you have chosen to pay by instalments you agree to pay £700 prior to commencing classroom studies. You agree to pay 10 monthly instalments of £260. In the unlikely event that you choose to discontinue your training at any time, you will still be legally liable for the full diploma course fee. Students using the instalment option are not eligible to fast-track their studies unless they agree to a revised payment schedule. Acceptance of these terms means that you agree that you will not receive your qualification diploma before you have paid in full.
- If you have advised us that you require additional support, for example if you have a permanent, or temporary disability, a medical condition or specific learning need, we will make reasonable adjustments to accommodate your needs.
- Students must attend at least 90% of the designated classroom hours to be eligible for all of our awards and subsequent accreditation. If a student misses more than 10%, they must make arrangements with the academy to attend at another date if possible, or provide alternative evidence of achieving the learning outcomes at the discretion of the academy.
- Student’s behaviour and conduct on the course must be considerate to fellow students and LHA team members at all times. Any behaviour or conduct deemed inappropriate or upsetting to a fellow student may result in you being asked to leave the classroom and/or course. You are asked to react respectfully to feedback from other students and/or tutors, accepting it as ‘advice’ that can be taken or ignored. We expect you to respect the thoughts, opinions and ideas of other students and tutors, should they differ from your own. We reserve the right to dismiss anyone from the classroom and/or course at any time for reasons including, but not limited to, inappropriate behaviour, disruption of class which impairs the quality of learning of other students, previously undisclosed or new criminal convictions, non-payment of fees, routine non-participation in practical exercises, or routine and significant lateness.
- We ask that you engage fully in practical exercises and class work; if there are any reasons why you cannot participate you need to inform the tutor.
- You agree to complete all required home study and written assignments to the best of your abilities, within the timescales given so that we can ensure you are applying the skills correctly and appropriately.
- You are required to submit case study assignments for each module you attend. Case studies need to be submitted for tutor assessment within three months of the end of the module to which the work pertains. The time for submission of case studies may be extended under certain circumstances with the permission of your tutor/the academy principal. All case studies must be conducted one-to-one with volunteer clients who have not paid for therapy or coaching with you.
- If a case study requires re-marking more than once, a marking fee may be incurred. Your tutor will inform you of the cost of the re-submission.
- On enrolment you will be asked to select your preferred module start dates. If you wish to change the order in which you complete training modules, you will need to request this in writing. Your request will be considered and may be granted, but cannot be assumed.
- You are expected to complete the classroom component of your training within 18 months of beginning the LHA practitioner diploma.
- All submissions must be in your own words, formulated through your research, insights, ideas and practise. The copying or duplication of materials from any source, including other students work is not permitted. We take plagiarism very seriously, whether from the course manual or directly from websites and we employ a plagiarism checker. If you are not clear on what constitutes plagiarism or how to reference other sources, please ask for clarification from one of the team prior to submitting your written assignments.
B) What’s included in your fees
All classroom training, tutorials , resources (hypnovault), assessment marking and the LHA Practitioner Diploma are included in your course fee.
Should you decide to complete the HPD (NCH) you have up to twelve months after the end of the course to complete your assessment. This is an optional additional qualification and there is a fee for the assessment of your work (see Dates & Fees page on the LHA website).
C) Alteration to Course Attendance
We appreciate that in rare circumstances (e.g. illness or bereavement) you may be unable to attend a training day or module. If this situation arises your tutor will discuss with you any options you may have for completing your training. This may include an offer of a place on a future course if spaces are available. Refunds are only given where LHA permanently cancels a training course for which you are booked.
D) Conduct of Courses
- We are always striving to improve our training courses and we reserve the right to change our syllabus and/or course structure. We also reserve the option to change trainers and training venues. If this does happen, we guarantee that the quality and value of our training will be maintained. On rare occasions dates of training may need to be changed, if this happens we will do our best to find a mutually agreeable alternative date. Nothing in our online or printed course guide forms a contract.
- Qualification (where applicable) is awarded upon successful completion of the course. This means that all given assignments are completed and satisfactory standards are met in written, practical and oral assessment.
- Code of Ethics: Students training with LHA are expected to adhere to the code of ethics as laid out by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (APHP) as appearing on their respective websites.
E) You Agree
- You will not share any of the course materials, including any scripts, articles or videos, or other resources located in the members area of website, with anyone who is not a student or graduate of LHA. You will not breach copyright of the course materials you receive during your studies with LHA. You will not use any of the course materials to teach or train others to be hypnosis professionals without written prior consent from LHA.
- You agree that you will not discuss anything that occurs in the class with volunteer clients or other students with anyone other than the LHA team.
- You will keep LHA updated about your contact details.
- You will not open up a hypnotherapy training school within five years of attending the diploma course. This is to ensure that you will have an appropriate level of therapeutic experience prior to launching a teaching establishment.
