Is now the time to start a new career?

Sometimes it takes an important life event to have us reflect on our life and career. This could be a ‘big’ birthday, a relationship break up or redundancy. You might realise that many years have passed since you chose your current job and that it no longer satisfies you. It may be that you didn’t actually choose your current path, but found yourself doing what you’re doing for reasons of convenience or necessity or that you simply drifted into something that you never intended.

Whatever the reason you are in a role that you no longer enjoy, committing to re-training or studying something very different is a big decision. Some courses, especially degree courses are lengthy and expensive, but diploma courses tend to be shorter and more affordable. Hypnotherapy training is one such option, but is by no means an easy option. The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and The UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations (UKCHO) lay down minimum training hours for trainee hypnotherapists and the most dedicated students will almost certainly exceed this through extensive reading and home study.

Many students who join our professional hypnotherapy training programme are already in traditionally caring professions such as holistic therapies, nursing and teaching, but increasing numbers are coming from IT, accountancy and other vocational areas. Disenchanted teachers often want a complete career change and set out to develop a full-time hypnotherapy practice, whilst others like the idea of a portfolio career with hypnotherapy as one area of work. Those who want to work flexible hours so that they can fit their work around childcare can build a practice around their commitments, yet still do a rewarding job with a good hourly rate.

If you think you’d like to train to be a professional clinical hypnotherapist, you are welcome to come along for a chat or to book to join a class for a half day session. Give us a call on 020 3369 3360 or send us an email to: info@londonhypnotherapyacademy.co.uk.
